FAQ's

  • Is it easily accessible to all employees?

    Yes. Every employee is provided with a username and password to access the software from any device (smartphone, tablet, PC etc) over the internet securely. Access can also be configured through single sign-on utilising your company network or intranet authentication. 

  • Can leave be requested in days, half-day & hours?

    Yes. Each leave type in Activ Absence can be configured with its own rules for requesting time off in hours, part-days and full days with customisable settings to limit number of times requested, max number of hours or management of different balance pools  

  • Can the Bradford Factor be calculated for employee unplanned absence?

    Yes. Activ Absence can be configured to automatically calculate the Bradford Factor score for specific unplanned absence types for every employee based on a rolling twelve-month period. Employees can see their personal score on their dashboard and managers have visibility of what their department or direct reports look like.  

  • Can we record and report on any type of leave or absence?

    Yes. Activ Absence allows you to manage any type of planned (e.g. holidays, maternity/paternity leave, medical appointments, working from home, TOIL etc.) or unplanned absence (e.g. sickness, COVID, unpaid leave etc)Custom absence types specific for your organisation can also be configured with specific business rules.  

  • Can we manage our return to work process?

    Yes. Activ Absence provides configurable online forms to help you manage the self-certification and return-to-work process. If you need to store a Fit for Work document from the employee, it can be easily attached to the absence record with alerts triggered on the proposed end date. A summary of the employee’s absence history provides you with immediate data analysis of any absence trends you may wish to review with them. 

  • Can we analyse our absence data to easily spot absence trends?

    Yes. Activ Absence provides you with powerful management reporting tools that enable line managers and HR to produce comprehensive real-time absence reportsAll data can be exported offline to manipulate further with any standard reporting tools. 

    Configurable reportenable the business to have a graphical view to analyse absence trends through graphs and charts that track the days lost, percentage, days of the week, cost of absence, absence types, absence levels, etc. across job roles, teamsdepartments and companywide 

  • Can we setup absence triggers based on our company rules?

    Yes. Activ Absence has highly configurable absence alerts that can trigger an email to the employee, line manager or HR when a specific absence conditions is met.  These alerts are a powerful addition to the HR capability for managing absence rules in the business by taking a proactive approach in real-time when the trigger condition has occurred.  

  • Can employees access their entitlement at book leave at any time?

    Yes. Activ Absence is available in the cloud and accessible from any device 365/24/7Employees can check their leave entitlement, TOIL balance, leave requests, update personal information and of course book leave anytime anywhere. Leave authorisations are sent to line managers by system notifications and email to quickly authorise requests.
